Description
There is a profound, quiet sanctuary we build when we are completely absorbed in someone else. This piece, "Dulce", is incredibly personal to me. It captures two lovers resting in a garden that doesn’t exist in the physical world, but is grown entirely from their feeling for one another.
I love this technique because it allows for a slower art consumption, which means a more thoughtful engagement.
Notice how the characters' eyes are closed - they aren't looking at the world; they are fully engaged in the experience of the feeling. This piece is about cultivating a silent, beautiful space that belongs only to the two of them, as they grow through each other. The ink lines tangle and connect them, while the red watercolor bleeds outward like nectar, bringing the metaphor to life.
